Testimonials

The following are quotes taken from students in our End-of-Quarter Evaluations from the 2014-15 academic year

On Course Material

The class applied to everyday life, and the things I learned that I can apply to improve
the world for me and those around me.

How I could walk away and apply everything that I learned from the lecture that
same day.  It applies to so much of my life.

I loved putting scientific names to things that I had personally observed. I think we're all amateur
psychologists, and this class is the first step to honing in on those skills.

On Lectures

The best part of my day was realizing I had Psych One lecture that day.

I was on the edge of my seat during almost every lecture. I found them fascinating.

On Sections

I loved that my TF considered my feedback on running more effective discussions. It made me feel
heard and like he really cared about improving.

In our midquarter evaluation, we had trouble giving him negative feedback. HIs passion for the subject
and for teaching students (and for being available) is infectious.

She is just enthusiastic and always excited to help everyone learn. She made discussions
comfortable yet challenging and interactive.

His dedication to his students is quite astounding. He is always really available, and willing to help in
any way he can. I had an entirely positive experience in his section.

On the R&W project

It was a different type of project that I've ever encountered, and it really got me thinking in a
different way, that I really appreciated.

On the Psych One Staff

My favorite thing was that I was being taught by some of the most successful and well
known psychologists in country and world.

Professor Gross was so funny and engaging.

Zaki and Hard were some of the best lecturers in an introductory class I have
had in my 3 years as a Stanford student so far.

The obvious passion Greg Walton had for Psychology was my favorite. He cares about our learning.

On the Textbook

The textbook is so interesting, I could read it on the beach.
